Again, the final terms ... Bears get: DT Jeffery Simmons, 2028 fifth-round pick. Titans get: 2027 first-round pick, 20 Via @AlbertBreer on X

What happened: Tennessee receives a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 first-round pick, and a 2027 fourth-round selection in the deal, while sending Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick to Chicago, per Albert Breer. Breer added that in his All-Pro polling of coaches and executives last year, no player drew more resounding first-team support than the veteran defensive tackle.

Why it matters: Holding the No. 5 seed on a two-game winning streak, the Bears commit two years of top draft capital ahead of the trade deadline to anchor their defensive front for a playoff push. For 1-6 Tennessee, sitting at the No. 15 seed, the move pivots toward a multi-year rebuild just four months after the Titans signed Simmons to a record defensive tackle extension in June.

By the numbers: Selected 19th overall by Tennessee in the 2019 NFL Draft, Simmons landed at No. 83 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2026 after posting 67 tackles and 11 sacks in 15 games during the 2025 season, per ESPN. Chicago won its most recent outing 30-24 on Oct. 22, while Tennessee dropped a 27-24 decision on Oct. 25.

What to watch: Simmons joins Chicago's defensive line rotation as the Bears enter the remainder of the 2026 regular season. Attention across the league also turns to whether Tennessee makes additional roster moves ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
