What happened: Bears GM Ryan Poles contacted Titans GM Mike Borgonzi on Wednesday night, and Tennessee agreed Thursday to send Jeffery Simmons to Chicago. Borgonzi said Simmons was surprised by the decision and wanted to stay.

Why it matters: The Titans are 1-6, and Borgonzi said the deal advances a three-year roster plan. The 5-2 Bears add a four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle.

By the numbers: Simmons made 67 tackles and recorded 11 sacks in 15 games for Tennessee in 2025.

What to watch: The trade remains subject to a physical. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10.
