What happened: Cody Bellinger hit a decisive two-run single in the 10th inning to lead the New York Yankees to a 7-5 victory over the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. The rally began with an intentional walk and a critical full-count challenge by Max Schuemann before Bellinger drove in Ali Sánchez and Ben Rice to break a 5-5 tie.

Why it matters: The win marks the Yankees' first extra-inning victory of 2026 and keeps them neck-and-neck with the Tampa Bay Rays for the AL East lead. Cody Bellinger became the first Yankee since 1994 to record game-winning RBIs in the 8th inning or later in consecutive games, stabilizing the lineup during Aaron Judge's absence.

What to watch: The Yankees continue their road trip as they look to extend their winning streak, while Cleveland aims to protect its AL Central lead in the series finale.
