What happened: Buffalo moved on a day after signing Anthony Kendall to the 53-man roster Oct. 12. He started at nickel the night before and played 30 snaps, with a practice-squad return planned if he clears waivers.

Why it matters: The quick turnaround keeps Buffalo's secondary depth flexible without holding a 53-man spot. Retaining Kendall on the practice squad would preserve nickel

What to watch: Kendall must clear waivers before Buffalo can re-sign him. Watch whether he returns to the practice squad within the next day.
