What happened: Braden Smith converted a reverse layup on Tuesday to score his first career NBA basket. The rookie guard recorded the milestone after entering the starting lineup for the first time in his professional career.

Why it matters: Smith made the start as Indiana managed frontcourt absences to Obi Toppin and Larry Nance Jr. The milestone basket provides early traction for the guard, who signed with the Pacers in August 2026.

What to watch: The Pacers continue their regular-season schedule as head coach Rick Carlisle evaluates Smith's role in the rotation.
