What happened: Brady Tkachuk returned to Ottawa for his first game against the Senators since requesting a trade and moving to Florida. The former Ottawa captain took the ice for warmups to loud boos from the home crowd.

Why it matters: The return marks a sharp break between Ottawa and its former captain after a trade-request exit. Ottawa has shifted toward new leadership since then, with Sanderson in the captain mix.

What to watch: Watch how Ottawa settles the captaincy and how Tkachuk responds through the rest of the matchup.
