What happened: Brady Tkachuk scored against the Ottawa Senators in his first visit back to the Canadian capital since his offseason trade to Florida. The goal came after the home crowd greeted the former Ottawa captain with boos during warmups and his return tribute.

Why it matters: The matchup marked the first on-ice meeting between the Ottawa Senators and their former captain since he requested a trade out of the organization. Finding the net in his return underscores Tkachuk's early-season scoring surge while Ottawa moves forward with its roster and leadership transition in the 2026-27 regular season.

What to watch: The Ottawa Senators continue their 2026-27 regular-season schedule with the opening chapter of Tkachuk's return now behind both clubs.
