What happened: Brandon Miller connected from beyond the arc at Spectrum Center on Saturday to claim sole possession of ninth place on the Charlotte Hornets career perimeter leaderboard. He opened the evening in Charlotte's starting lineup as the Hornets hosted the Miami Heat.

Why it matters: The franchise milestone arrives less than a week after Charlotte and Miller agreed to a five-year, $209 million contract extension on Oct. 19, cementing him as the team's long-term offensive cornerstone. Climbing into the top 10 of the franchise's all-time shooting chart early in the 2026-27 regular season underscores his primary role in Charlotte's half-court offense.

By the numbers: Miller reached 497 career regular-season three-pointers in his 62nd consecutive regular-season appearance to move past Batum. Charlotte entered Saturday's contest with a 1-1 record following a 128-81 final loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 23.

What to watch: Charlotte continues its early regular-season slate ahead of the league-wide NBA Cup tipoff on Oct. 30.
