Kimi Antonelli secured Pole Position for the United States Grand Prix, ahead of the Red Bull pair of Max Verstappen and Via @F1 on X

What happened: Antonelli topped Saturday qualifying at Circuit of the Americas to claim the front-row start for the Austin race. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton completed the top five on the starting grid in fourth and fifth place.

Why it matters: The pole run marks a sharp qualifying turnaround for Antonelli after starting 16th at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September. Hadjar also recovered from a 14th-place opening practice and Sector 1 tire overheating in FP2 to put a second Red Bull in the top three alongside Verstappen. Leclerc settled for the second row despite sweeping both Friday practice sessions in Austin.

By the numbers: United States GP qualifying top six: P1 Kimi Antonelli (1:34.035), P2 Max Verstappen, P3 Isack Hadjar, P4 Charles Leclerc, P5 Lewis Hamilton, P6 George Russell.

What to watch: Antonelli will defend the lead into Turn 1 against the trailing Red Bull pair of Verstappen and Hadjar in Sunday's United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.
