What happened: Milwaukee has yet to make a final call on whether to activate Brandon Woodruff before the World Series opens in Milwaukee, per Bob Nightengale. The right-hander threw to Brewers hitters during Thursday's team workout while pushing for a spot in the Fall Classic.

Why it matters: Woodruff has been sidelined since returning to the injured list with an inflamed labrum on July 5, leaving him with a three-month layoff entering late October. MLB postseason roster rules complicate the decision further by locking out any replaced player if an active pitcher has to exit the series with an injury.

What to watch: Milwaukee must submit its official 26-man World Series roster prior to Game 1.
