What happened: FC Dallas defender Joshua Torquato has been called into Brazil's under-20 national team squad. The 19-year-old has previously featured for United States youth national teams. Torquato has yet to make a first-team appearance for Dallas.

Why it matters: The call-up presents an international tug-of-war for the dual-national defender between the Brazilian and American federations. Securing Torquato would bolster Brazil's youth ranks while testing the United States' retention of academy-developed prospects.

What to watch: Torquato will determine whether to report to Brazil's camp or remain with the U.S. program for the upcoming international window.
