What happened: Brees asked Jefferson for his jersey during Jefferson's rookie season, the only such request of his career. The jersey was intended for Brees' son. The exchange aired as part of Week 5 Mic'd Up programming.

Why it matters: A quarterback across 20 seasons asking for a first swap marks Jefferson as an immediate standout. The moment links two eras, turning a peer tribute into a family keepsake.

What to watch: Minnesota continues through the 2026 regular season with Jefferson back in focus.
