What happened: Brian Branch addressed the media Sunday after taking the field in Week 7 against Green Bay for a last-second divisional win. The appearance marked his 2026 regular-season debut after spending the opening weeks on the physically unable to perform list during Achilles rehabilitation.

Why it matters: Detroit opened Branch's practice window Oct. 6 before clearing him from the injury report ahead of Sunday's kickoff. Selected 45th overall out of Alabama in the 2023 NFL Draft, the defensive back posted 75 tackles and 2.5 sacks across 12 games for the Lions in 2025, per ESPN as of Oct. 24, 2026.

What to watch: Detroit will evaluate Branch's recovery following his initial game reps as the defense prepares for Week 8.
