What happened: Forward Brian White addressed the media on July 6 regarding the Whitecaps' temporary move to Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, British Columbia. The club is relocating its upcoming home fixtures to accommodate the 2026 FIFA World Cup at BC Place.

Why it matters: The venue shift connects the current roster to the franchise's pre-MLS roots, as the Burnaby stadium served as the team's primary home from 1987 to 2010. Returning to the smaller ground offers a nostalgic atmosphere for longtime supporters and a unique environment for the squad during the Canadian Championship.

By the numbers: The impending Wednesday fixture carries major personal significance for White, who is slated to make his 200th appearance across all competitions for the organization.

What to watch: Vancouver will host Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC in the first leg of their quarterfinal tie.
