What happened: LSU is working to add former defensive coordinator and Baylor head coach Dave Aranda to its staff, according to Matt Zenitz. Aranda previously served as defensive coordinator in Baton Rouge from 2016 to 2019. Baylor dismissed Aranda as head coach earlier this season following an Oct. 24 loss to Kansas.

Why it matters: The move would bring an experienced defensive coach back to the program in an analyst capacity. His four seasons of familiarity with LSU offer immediate support as the staff finishes out the 2026 season.

What to watch: Aranda is currently in Baton Rouge as discussions continue regarding his potential role on staff.
