What happened: Jake Fischer and Marc Stein highlighted the seasonal return of the 'Who He Play For' television segment as the 2026-27 NBA schedule gets underway. Stein noted that Ernie will likely still quiz Chuck on longtime veteran Garrett Temple even after his move to the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff.

Why it matters: The annual broadcast quiz serves as an early-season marker for tracking offseason roster and bench turnover across the league. Temple's transition onto the Dallas sideline shifts a familiar journeyman name from active player movement into a coaching role.

What to watch: Dallas continues its opening week of the regular season looking to even its record after the 0-1 start.
