Stone recorded 5.5 sacks for Columbus this spring

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Aug 251 min read

What happened: Stone, 26, played for the Columbus Aviators this spring. Butler also came from the UFL before signing with Denver in June.

Why it matters: The move exchanges receiver depth for another option at outside linebacker as preseason cuts approach. Stone entered the NFL with Las Vegas as an undrafted free agent in 2024.

By the numbers: Stone totaled nine sacks and nine tackles for loss across the 2025 and 2026 UFL seasons, including 5.5 sacks and five tackles for loss this spring.

What to watch: Stone's place in Denver's edge rotation will come into focus as the Broncos finalize their roster.
