What happened: Denver Broncos reporter Troy Renck raised the question of whether edge rusher Nik Bonitto can take his game to the next level, drawing comparisons to franchise pass-rush icon Von Miller. Bonitto enters his fifth NFL season with Denver off a 14-sack 2025 campaign.

Why it matters: Miller remains the Broncos' benchmark at the position, a two-time Super Bowl MVP whose name still defines the standard for the franchise's edge rushers. Any comparison to that level signals how far Bonitto has risen since his rookie season in Denver.

What to watch: Bonitto heads into the 2026 season looking to build on last year's sack total as Denver's defense takes shape.
