What happened: Cameron Carr and Bronny James will rejoin the Los Angeles Lakers for the team's upcoming three-game road trip against Detroit, Atlanta, and Milwaukee, head coach JJ Redick announced. The decision follows the Lakers' recent move that assigned both players to the Coachella Valley Lakers.

Why it matters: The moves add roster depth as Los Angeles looks to maintain momentum during an Eastern Conference road swing. Redick noted that the temporary assignment was designed to get both young guards competitive playing time and game repetitions.

By the numbers: James has recorded 0.8 points per game in 2026-27 through 5 games. The Lakers enter the trip at 7-2 through 9 games this season, holding the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference on a three-game winning streak.

What to watch: The Lakers open the three-game road trip at Detroit before continuing on to face Atlanta and Milwaukee.
