What happened: The clock started on Dillon Gabriel's return path, opening a three-week window for Cleveland to settle a four-man quarterback room. Gabriel was placed on injured reserve Aug. 30.

Why it matters: Cleveland must clear a spot if Gabriel is activated, forcing a quarterback roster move. The choice sets the active depth order and divides practice reps.

What to watch: Watch for a return to practice and the corresponding roster move before the window closes.
