What happened: Nick Scott praised Bryce Young after home fans chanted MVP. Young declined to engage with the MVP talk himself. Dan Orlovsky had already singled out Young's pocket work earlier in the week.

Why it matters: The exchange marks a turn for the 2023 No. 1 pick out of Alabama into settled franchise quarterback. The test is sustaining that level through the middle of the 2026 regular season.

By the numbers: In 2025, Young completed 304 of 478 passes for 3,011 yards with 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 16 games. His 88.1 Week 4 passer grade ranked third.

What to watch: Watch whether the pocket efficiency holds through the next stretch of the 2026 regular season.
