What happened: Daniels, an undrafted rookie out of Kansas, has repeatedly challenged Tampa Bay's first-team defense while running the scout team in practice. Internal evaluations have been strong on his arm talent, with upside clear even as his game remains raw.

Why it matters: That matters because Daniels is already central to Tampa Bay's quarterback plan with Baker Mayfield out at least three weeks. If those practice flashes hold up, the Buccaneers could be leaning on a developmental passer much sooner than expected.

What to watch: Watch Tampa Bay's next practice and injury updates for how much first-team work Daniels gets. An official depth-chart move would turn internal praise into concrete lineup news.
