What happened: Hield knocked down four three-pointers in the first half of preseason play. The fourth came late in the half with room on the perimeter.

Why it matters: Early shooting gives coaches a clean read on his off-ball fit in a new rotation. Preseason volume like this shapes second-unit minutes heading into the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Second-half usage and the next preseason outings will show whether the offense keeps finding him early.
