What happened: No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa and 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis forced a shot-clock violation. The pair marked the stop with a shared seatbelt celebration during 2026-27 preseason action.

Why it matters: The sequence paired a rookie top pick with a veteran cornerstone on the same defensive possession. Stops that expire the clock preserve fouls and preserve momentum during preseason rotations.

What to watch: Additional shared defensive stints will show if the pairing continues as preseason builds toward the Oct. 20 tip-off.
