What happened: Nate Burleson said on Yahoo Sports Daily that Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores could earn another opportunity as an NFL head coach. He leads Minnesota's defense during the 2026 regular season.

Why it matters: Minnesota's defense has ranked among the league's best across four seasons under Flores. That sustained performance keeps him in the hiring conversation and puts Minnesota's continuity at stake if interviews follow.

What to watch: Minnesota's defensive results down the stretch will shape Flores' candidacy. Openings will formalize after the regular season.
