What happened: Offensive lineman Cade Mays is integrating into the Detroit Lions system ahead of the 2026 campaign. The franchise added the blocker earlier this year to reinforce their personnel in the trenches.

Why it matters: The recent acquisition is slated to take over the starting center position and anchor a revamped interior group. Securing stability on the line is crucial following veteran departures. Building communication with the offensive backfield serves as the immediate objective.

What to watch: Coaching staff evaluations will intensify once training camp opens. Roster cohesion remains the primary focus heading into preseason matchups.
