What happened: Caitlin Clark spoke out regarding the negative comments and racist rhetoric directed at Indiana Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell by segments of the fanbase. Clark expressed frustration that her name has been used to justify the hate. She noted that the situation is deeply upsetting because of her care and respect for Mitchell.

Why it matters: The Fever teammates formed one of the league's most potent backcourts this season, making their public solidarity significant. Clark's firm stance continues her pattern of distancing herself from factions that use her platform to target other WNBA players.

What to watch: Indiana heads into the offseason looking to continue building around its foundational backcourt.
