What happened: The Chicago Bulls rookie debuted the distinctive hairstyle during the exhibition schedule in Las Vegas. After addressing his cut from the USA Basketball roster earlier in July, the former North Carolina standout returned to on-court action against the Utah Jazz.

Why it matters: The lottery selection is expected to serve as a foundational piece for Chicago's frontcourt rotation heading into the 2026-27 NBA season. He received veteran mentorship from guard Josh Giddey ahead of training camp as the organization integrates its incoming rookie class.

By the numbers: In his first two Summer League contests, Wilson averaged 27.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 53.0 percent from both the field and 3-point range. He recorded 19 points, eight rebounds, five blocks, and two steals during Chicago's matchup against Utah.

What to watch: Chicago continues its Las Vegas Summer League schedule ahead of NBA training camps opening later this offseason. Wilson will seek to maintain his two-way efficiency before transitioning to full-team activities with the veterans.
