What happened: Rafael Camara hit the barriers in Q1, recovered to make Q2, then crashed again there. Adam Cooper reports it was the rookie's first time driving in the wet, and that "the bottom line is he was quick.

Why it matters: The home-race debut came on a wet Saturday at Interlagos, after Haas introduced its 2027 rookie and moved him into Esteban Ocon's seat for the final four races. Two crashes in one session raise the repair bill, but a P11 start shows the speed survived them.

By the numbers: Q1: hit the barriers, advanced to Q2. Q2: crashed, red flag ended the session early. Qualifying result: P11.

What to watch: Race day is also forecast wet, so Camara gets a second shot at wet running, this time over a full distance from P11.
