What happened: The Washington Capitals sent Hometown Remix gear to the Washington Commanders as part of a cross-sport promotion between the two District franchises. The exchange highlights the NHL's new alternate uniform program celebrating local team heritage and civic landmarks.

Why it matters: The Capitals' Hometown Remix design revives the U.S. Capitol Dome crest and Screaming Eagle shoulder patches from the franchise's late-1990s look. Cross-market activations allow regional franchises to coordinate merchandise campaigns and engage shared fan bases across leagues.

What to watch: The Capitals will debut the Hometown Remix uniforms on ice during designated home dates at Capital One Arena this season.
