What happened: Washington will center the weekend around Youth Hockey Day presented by GEICO. The slate spans on- and off-ice programming built to engage youth with hockey.

Why it matters: The timing puts youth outreach during the opening month of the 2026-27 regular season. Framing it as a weekend creates one window for on-ice and classroom entry points.

What to watch: Full schedule details for Youth Hockey Day are next.
