What happened: The Pets of Oil Country 50/50 is open with proceeds split among Edmonton Humane Society, Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society and Second Chance Animal Rescue Society. Tickets are on sale ahead of the scheduled Detroit Red Wings visit to Edmonton.

Why it matters: The draw ties a scheduled home date to local animal-welfare funding. Naming three beneficiaries spreads proceeds across humane care, assistance dogs and rescue work.

What to watch: The game remains scheduled, with the 50/50 draw window closing around it.
