What happened: The Los Angeles Chargers activated fullback and defensive lineman Scott Matlock and guard Branson Taylor from injured reserve. In corresponding moves, the team placed quarterback Trey Lance and offensive lineman Trevor Penning on injured reserve.

Why it matters: The transactions shuffle the active roster depth for Los Angeles. Matlock and Taylor return to provide reinforcements in the trenches and the backfield, while Lance's placement on injured reserve removes an option under center.

What to watch: The Chargers move forward with their updated depth chart for their upcoming matchup.
