What happened: The Los Angeles Chargers ruled out wide receiver Quentin Johnston, offensive tackle Joe Alt, and safety Derwin James. The trio will miss Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Why it matters: The absences sideline crucial pieces of the Los Angeles roster on both sides of the ball. The offensive line loses its top rookie, while Quentin Johnston misses the contest after his role diminished earlier this season.

What to watch: Los Angeles will rely on backup options at tackle and safety as they finalize the roster.
