What happened: Chiefs Kingdom pushed the annual Red Thursday flag fundraiser to a $1 million finish for RMH KC. The total funds lodging for families while children receive medical care.

Why it matters: Keeping parents nearby during treatment cuts hotel costs and long commutes. A seven-figure single-day total gives the charity stable operating support entering winter demand.

What to watch: RMH KC is expected to detail how the $1 million will support family stays.
