What happened: Christian McCaffrey jogged to the San Francisco 49ers locker room during the opening quarter of Sunday's regular-season contest in Atlanta, per beat reporter Jennifer Lee Chan.

Why it matters: McCaffrey previously missed an August joint practice with tightness before anchoring San Francisco's unbeaten start to the 2026 campaign. The offense already entered the afternoon shorthanded with wideouts Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel out and Christian Kirk newly activated off injured reserve.

What to watch: In-game updates from the San Francisco sideline will clarify McCaffrey's status for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Falcons.
