What happened: Houston Texans receiver Nico Collins and Baltimore Ravens wideout Zay Flowers are sidelined with hamstring issues. The Seattle Seahawks scratched quarterback Sam Darnold due to a soft-tissue glute injury, prompting Drew Lock to start against the Arizona Cardinals. Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is doubtful with a knee problem.

Why it matters: Lock makes his first start since 2024, supported by backup Jalen Milroe. The Atlanta Falcons will start Cooper Rush under center again while Tua Tagovailoa manages a back injury. New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson is slated to make his season debut returning from an ankle injury.

By the numbers: The NFL tied its post-merger record for the most points scored in an opening week with 791 across 16 games.

What to watch: The Pittsburgh Steelers expect cornerback Joey Porter Jr. back in Week 3 as he navigates a back injury and contract negotiations. Seattle will evaluate Darnold daily without placing him on injured reserve.
