What happened: The Colorado Rockies hired Andre Lipcius as a video advance scout. Lipcius, a former major league infielder who played for the Detroit Tigers in 2023, transitions into Colorado's preparation staff after playing the past two years in Mexico.

Why it matters: The move adds recent on-field playing experience to Colorado's advance planning operations ahead of 2027. It follows the Rockies' recent hire of Ethan Katz as major league pitching coach as the organization rebuilds its major league staff.

What to watch: Colorado will continue finalizing its coaching and advance scouting rosters ahead of winter organizational meetings.
