What happened: FOX Sports identified five Indianapolis players as fits for contenders after the front office change. The move ended Chris Ballard tenure in Indianapolis during the 2026 regular season.

Why it matters: Indianapolis has shown home vulnerability instead of contender control when it mattered. A front office reset in October signals evaluation mode for Indianapolis, not a closing push.
