What happened: Philadelphia opened the 2026-27 season on Oct. 20 on NBC and Peacock. Maxey stacked 5 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks to power the 1-0 start.

Why it matters: It was an early two-way statement after Maxey entered camp off an All-NBA season. A complete opening-night line sets the tone for Philadelphia's lead-option offense.

By the numbers: Maxey: 28 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks, 61% true shooting.

What to watch: Philadelphia continues the opening week with rotation and matchup details to follow. Maxey's two-way workload bears watching early.
