What happened: The Indianapolis Colts signed veteran tight end Pharaoh Brown off their practice squad to the active roster, per Adam Schefter. Brown joined Indianapolis in August and continued with the club on the practice squad.

Why it matters: The move adds experienced depth at tight end during the regular season. Brown is in his ninth NFL season out of Oregon. He gives Indianapolis a veteran blocking option behind its rotation.

What to watch: His game-day role becomes clear when Indianapolis sets its gameday inactives.
