What happened: Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota and defensive end Charles Omenihu have been downgraded to out against the Indianapolis Colts. Mariota sustained a knee injury, while Omenihu is sidelined with a groin issue.

Why it matters: The simultaneous injuries deplete Washington on both sides of the ball. The Commanders were already navigating existing roster limitations and must now finish the contest without two experienced contributors.

What to watch: Washington will lean on its emergency options under center and along the defensive line. Medical personnel will evaluate both players following the game to determine recovery timelines.
