What happened: Sarell had been listed at left tackle on the preseason depth chart. The move removes a veteran tackle from the roster entering the final week of preseason.

Why it matters: The release narrows the competition for backup tackle roles as the club approaches the 53-man limit. Sarell is now available to pursue another roster opportunity.

What to watch: Watch whether Sarell lands with another club after league-wide roster cuts.
