What happened: Dan Quinn said Daniels is still working his way back and is not yet in line to play Sunday. The ruling comes after Daniels opened the week with a questionable designation.

Why it matters: Washington sticks with Mariota rather than pushing Daniels back onto the field before he is ready. The move extends the team's current plan after Daniels avoided injured reserve last week and keeps the offense on the veteran's timetable for another game.

What to watch: Washington's next read on Daniels will come when practice resumes next week. Mariota now gets the full starter workload heading into Sunday's kickoff.
