What happened: The Washington Commanders have ruled out cornerback Trey Amos and running back Jeremy McNichols for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. Amos is sidelined by an ankle injury, while McNichols is dealing with a quad issue.

Why it matters: The dual absences deplete Washington's depth in both the secondary and the offensive backfield. The coaching staff will be forced to rely on rotational pieces to absorb the vacated snaps against a division opponent.

What to watch: Washington will finalize its active roster and announce any necessary practice squad elevations prior to kickoff.
