What happened: Corbin Carroll was named the club's nominee for this year's Roberto Clemente Award. The honor cited his character, community involvement and philanthropy.

Why it matters: The nod adds a major off-field honor to Carroll's 2026 resume late in the regular season. It also comes days after Carroll became the first player to repeat a 20-homer, 20-steal, 15-triple season.

What to watch: Watch for more nominee announcements around the league and any later updates tied to the award. Carroll's stretch-run production will keep adding context to the honor.
