What happened: San Diego's scheduled game at Colorado had not started at the latest update, with the score 0-0. Corbin Carroll delivered a walk-off homer that kept pressure on the Padres in the late-season race.

Why it matters: That swing left San Diego heading into its own game with the chase still active. The Padres' next result now carries immediate scoreboard weight once this matchup begins.

What to watch: Watch for the Padres-Rockies matchup to move off 0-0 once play begins and for whether San Diego answers the pressure Carroll created.
