What happened: Dailyn Swain, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, will wear No. 5. The number assignment was made official following his selection out of Texas.

Why it matters: Jersey number assignments mark a rookie's formal arrival and signal a clean slate on the depth chart. For a mid-first-round wing like Dailyn Swain, the No. 15 pick out of Texas, it is the first concrete step toward carving out a rotation role heading into the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Watch for Swain's first appearance in the number during Summer League and how quickly he works into the wing rotation.
