What happened: Lillard outlined his excitement to team up with Morant during an exclusive interview addressing his return to Portland and the lessons carried over from his stint with the Bucks. The veteran guard rejoined the active lineup on Oct. 16 against the Suns after rehabilitating an Achilles injury.

Why it matters: Portland reshaped its roster in June by sending Jerami Grant and Kris Murray to Memphis to pair Morant with the franchise's single-game 71-point record holder. Having Lillard healthy alongside another primary creator sets the Trail Blazers' offensive ceiling early in the season.

What to watch: Portland continues its early-season slate as Lillard and Morant build repetitions together in the starting backcourt.
