What happened: Daniel Gafford stepped out to the perimeter and hit a three-pointer during Game 1 of the NBA China Games on Friday. The shot was broadcast on NBA TV during the preseason exhibition.

Why it matters: The make marks a rare perimeter event for a player who operates almost exclusively in the paint. Gafford had previously attempted just one regular-season three in his career.

By the numbers: Gafford was 0-for-1 from three-point range in his career entering the contest, with his lone attempt coming in 2022.
